Blunt cerebrovascular injuries
and stroke are a significant cause of morbidity
and mortality in trauma patients and the use of
multimodality imaging with conventional radiography,
multidetector computed tomography (CT) is increasing
being used to help diagnose injuries in trauma
patients. This course provides information on
the various imaging manifestations of injury at
multidetector CT angiography, as well as with
the diagnostic limitations of this modality and
the various clinical factors that affect its use.
A section is devoted to radiation protection and
CT examinations.
The course contains 3 parts.
Part 1 Blunt Cerebrovascular Injuries: Imaging
with Multidetector CT Angiography. Part 2 CT
Protocol for Acute Stoke: Tips and Tricks for
General Radiologists.. Part 3 Radiation Protection
and CT. Parts 1 and 2 are web-based documents.
You will be sent directions with a link to access
the reading references. Part 3 will be sent
via email. This course posttest has 40 multiple-choice
questions. This course applies to all radiographers,
radiologic technologists (RTs) and limited radiographers.
