This course is based on the recently published 3rd edition of the Breast Imaging Companion. The course includes updated information about imaging modalities, patient care and current knowledge about breast diseases. Many images used in previous editions have been replaced. Additional information includes current information about breast imaging and the following topics: breast cancer, regulatory issues, quality control, technical considerations, screening and diagnostic mammography and problem solving, breast ultrasound, specific review of breast anatomy, the altered and male breast, intervention procedures, documentation and the mammography report and audit. New information has been included about magnetic resonance imaging of the breast and digital mammography. The course includes a textbook (Breast Imaging Companion, 3rd edition by Gilda Cardenosa) and a posttest with 120 multiple-choice questions. This course applies to all radiologic technologists and limited radiographers but will prove especially helpful for mammography radiographers.
